For the most part, it was derived from Voxengo GlissEQ dynamic parametric equalizer and reproduces its spectrum analysis functionality.

Voxengo Span is a powerful tool for professionals who need to analyze audio files by using a spectrum visualizing solution. This plugin can be loaded in any audio application that supports Virtual Studio Technology.

It provides you with a very flexible “mode” system which you can use to set up your spectrum analyzer preferences. You may specify Fourier block size in samples, FFT window overlap percentage, spectrum’s visual slope. Besides that, you can choose to display the secondary spectrum of the desired type (e.g. real-time maximum, all-time maximum). Spectrum can be smoothed out visually for an easier examination.

It supports multi-channel analysis and can be set to display spectrums from two different channels or channel groups at the same time. Spectrum’s color can be chosen to taste.

Voxengo Span also features output level metering with adjustable ballistics and integration time, K-system metering (including calibration K-system metering). Voxengo Span displays level metering statistics, headroom estimation, and clipping detection. Correlation metering is available as well.

Additionally, you can specify a secondary spectrum in order to visually compare the output. If you use this feature, you can also smooth the spectrum and adjust the colors before examining the generated graph.

The advanced users can group several channels or analyze each channel in order to isolate a certain issue. Since the plugin supports presets, you can save your settings and use the same configuration for multiple projects.

You can adjust the size of the graphical interface in order to view the graph in greater detail. The plugin allows you to undo certain modifications that allow you to test various settings when using the analyzer.
